Renting a place with Sol & Playa was the best experience - which is definitely not a common thing to say from a rental business, trust me. The ease of service and accommodations they made far exceeded my expectations. Ended up selecting a place Betsy personally recommended and she nailed it! (Seriously, ask for Betsy if you can, she’s a gem!) To be fair though, I think we would have probably been happy with any of their units - they all looked equally gorgeous to ours. I’m excited to come back and work with Betsy and her team again. Vacay in San Juan Del Sur just wouldn’t be the same anymore without Sol & Playa.

I recently signed up with Sol y Playa Rentals to rent out my ocean view home in San Juan del Sur. I was immediately impressed by the owner, Betzy Barboza. who was extremely professional, on time, and listened closely to my requirements. It was like a breath of fresh air that I did not have to screen every person on the list myself. I just left that to Betzy and she provided me with wonderful renters. One of the greatest things about Betzy is that she was born and raised in San Juan del Sur, so she knows EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING in the city. For any question you have, she knows the answer, who you have to speak to, where you have to go. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and helps the renters in my house with anything they need. She will help them rent a car, aid them by translating tricky situations, and tells them about local events and places that may be interesting for them to visit. If my renters need something, she is right on top of the situation and gets any adjustment or request accomplished very quickly. One issue I've heard from other home owners renting out their property is trust. I've never seen a more honest and sincere rental agent than Betzy Barboza. She gives this job her all and I have not had one single complaint since I started working with her. In fact, my renters say she is the nicest, most accommodating and happy person they have ever met! She makes people feel safe and comfortable in my home. I highly recommend Betzy Barboza and her company if you are a home owner and want to rent your home. I honestly think her company, Sol y Playa Rentals is the best of all the companies in San Juan del Sur.

I’ve used Sol Playa rental on a number of occasions the past few years for short term rentals in the San Juan del Sur area. They are always prompt in response and very easy to work with. They have relationships with other management companies and will help you find the right properties for you even if they don’t have the direct listing. I’m considering buying a second home in the area and Betzy’s been a wonderful sounding board on what areas will make better short term rental options for an investor. Twice a year I go to Nicaragua to visit my friends. And twice a year Betzy Barboza finds me the perfect place to stay. Sometimes my budget changes. No problem for Betzy. Sometimes I get to the place that I'm staying and discover the washing machine or TV isn't working. That's no problem for Betzy either. In fact, nothing is a problem for Betzy. I have never seen anyone (and I travel a lot) who can fix the situation so fast, and always with a smile. If I run out of drinking water at an odd time, I have a new one within an hour. And it's not only Betzy's fantastic service, she is also a wealth of information! Born and raised in San Juan del Sur and bilingual, there is no one there I would trust more than Betzy to help me find items at stores, mechanics, places to rent cars - not the people that just cater to foreigners for high prices, but real Nicaraguans who charge a fair price. Betzy is the real gem of San Juan del Sur and I give her a 50 out of 10 (yes!) because she is THAT GREAT. No one comes close. I know - I lived in San Juan del Sur for 14 years and watched Betzy grow up. She is THE BEST YOU CAN FIND either to rent your home or find a vacation rental to stay in. Don't go anywhere else! Betzy can do it all!

Best choice in town! I used Betzy‘s Sol y Playa Vacation Rentals for many years for my home in SJDS. Although I had many agents, Betzy became my main person as she found the majority of my long-term rentals. She wrote contracts, helped with paying bills and the contact with utility companies, and interacted with my caretaker. She was also quick to answer any questions and would deal with any other issues that came up. Betzy speaks perfect English and is a very outgoing and pleasant person, which makes the communication easy. I would highly recommend Betzy in any areas of the rental business.
